Türkler is where the coast west of Alanya shows both of its faces at once. Along the sea stand the mega-resorts — glass towers with waterparks, spa floors and half a dozen restaurants — while the streets behind them fill with aparthotels and family-run blocks where guests come back year after year, often with grandparents and grandchildren in tow. It is, in other words, a place built for travelling in numbers. That makes Türkler natural territory for the one excursion every generation ranks at the top of the wish list: Pamukkale, the white travertine hillside roughly 345 km inland, about 4.5–5 hours away by coach in each direction.

A three-generation day out lives or dies on its pacing, and this one is paced kindly. Pickup is at your own door in the early morning — the exact hour reaches you with the booking confirmation — and breakfast circulates while the coach does the climbing. At the site, the rhythm splits naturally: teenagers race ahead across the warm, shallow terrace pools (barefoot, shoes carried — the rule that keeps the calcite white), parents photograph everything twice, and grandparents set their own tempo on the boardwalk sections with the guide close at hand. Above the terraces waits Hierapolis, the ancient spa city whose hillside theatre and colossal necropolis reward slow wandering as much as brisk exploring. The whole ensemble has been a single mixed UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988 — nature and monument judged inseparable.

Meals are the quiet glue of a big-group day, so three of them come included: breakfast on the outbound drive, a seated lunch at a restaurant near the site, dinner on the way home. Nobody negotiates over restaurant menus with eight opinions at the table — only drinks are chosen and paid individually. In the free hour after lunch, the athletic wing of the family can take the optional swim among sunken columns in the Cleopatra Antique Pool (separate ticket, bought at the pool), while everyone else claims shade and ice cream. Official entrance tickets stay outside the tour price by policy: the site administration resets its tariffs seasonally, so each guest pays the genuine gate price rather than our estimate of it.
